The Slys are a rhythm section funk collective connecting the Triad and Triangle areas of North Carolina. Live shows feature a mix of high energy funk, chill lo-fi beats, and communication through the language of music. Formed in 2024, The Slys have performed at regional festivals and venues across the state including The North Carolina Folk Festival and The Big What?!. Their unique regionally inspired sound draws influnce from 70s instrumental funk bands such as Stuff and The Crusaders, while also bringing the modern influnce of artists such as Butcher Brown and Charlie Hunter. Members of the group are nationally and internationally touring musicans who individually have been members of bands such as Big Something, Delvon Lamar Organ Trio, ZooCru, Mellow Swells, The Wildmans, Sam Fribush Organ Trio, Drew Foust, Victoria Victoria, William Hinson, Maia Kamil, Reliably Bad, and many others.Â
